Thermal paste remove option without alcohol.

Hi, i cant get any alcohol like isopropyl or something like that. i just bought new cpu cooler (corsair H110I GT) and i need to remove old thermal paste from cpu without any alcoholic things. is there any way ?

You could try dental floss to scrape off the majority by running it close to the top of the cpu it should scrape off most and then try and follow up with a napkin to clean up the rest. Not sure how well it will work though. Personally i always use alcohol but it should get the majority off.

Use a 'lint-free' cloth or paper suitable for optical use. No solvent is necessary, although it will take a little longer.

If you are careful to clean any fragments off, even a good paper towel will do the job.

Dry wipe it until it's clean. You don't need to use any type of cleaner. It does not leave any residue so just wipe it off with a dry lint free cloth.

Edge of a bank/credit card - there is no better tool for removing existing paste if its still pliable.
