When you get these in for review (assuming you do), please compare them to the
original TRUE 120 (RevC or otherwise), TRUE Black, Venomous-X and other
tried & trusted Thermalright coolers, not just the modern coolers of today.

I agree with mapsdhs...I'd like to see comparisons between the older Thermalrights and other modern coolers. I have the Ultra 120 True Black and I love it!

I bought a fairly silly number of TRUE units and their numerous
variations (lost count, at least 30), mostly the standard TRUE
RevC, but also several blacks, several Venomous-Xs and most
recently (Sunday) a black Venomous-X. I've lapped several
TRUEs, definitely helps; my coffee table is a permanent
lapping station. :D

What amuses me is the way newer models continue to be so
expensive, while used TRUEs and other equivalent models
are so cheap. Buy new? What on earth for. :D The black VenX
I won on Sunday only cost me 19.50 UKP + 5.50 shipping
(item 331063053525); it'll see service running a used 2700K
at 5GHz on a used ASUS M4E (the 3rd I'll have built); only
new items I bought are the usual two Coolermaster Blademaster
120mm PWM fans which work very nicely with this combo.

SR-71 Blackbird mentioned the Phanteks PH-TC14PE and
yes that's one of the best - I have one in my 3930K system
(black edition, three fans), but it is kinda large. I have another
black unit and a red unit in storage, not used as yet. Meanwhile,
last week I won a blue unit with 2 fans for the silly sum of 25
UKP total.

Anyway, I do hope a future review of these new models does
compare old & new within the Thermalright range, otherwise
for all we know it could be just empty PR without any useful
improvement over the TRUE RevC or VenX.

Ian.
