After reading the posts on the Eidos and TTLG forums, I have a little more hope that Thief 4 will turn out well. It sounds like the studio is really paying attention to the fans. Only time will tell.

Well, it's not as difficult as you may think. You could make a product with WINE in mind and/or use OpenGL. Games are made for Macs, why not Linux? It's not like it would be difficult to port it. And you could corner the Linux market with your product.

I'm not saying it's difficult. But there's really no point. If you run linux you don't want to play games. Most likely you can't even think linear enough for developers to make games you'd enjoy.
With mac it's a slight bit different - if you own a mac it merely shows you care more about looks than performance, but that doesn't mean you can't play a game should you happen to be in a situation where nobody could see you were doing that instead of polishing your ipod.

It was a great teaser for L4D... and further proof that no matter how good a games is... Zombies will make it better. :)

- Never set a Zombie on fire... because if there's anything worse than a Zombie trying to eat your brains... it's as Zombie ON FIRE trying to eat your brains.

And how did you come to that conclusion?

I use Linux and I want to play games, in fact that's one of the reasons why I dual-boot. There a quite a few Open Source games for Linux, Warsow is a good example of a game for Linux that has been accepted as a competition-worthy game by several large online leagues such as the Electronic Sports League and ClanBase.

I came to that conclusion by analysing the linux nerds I have come in contact with. And yes I know there are a few linux people who want to game, but the only one I know irl is the girlfriend of another it staff - and she's only playing old unreal turnament on it as far as I can gather - so we're back to linux not being a choice of a gamer.
And even you have realized that obviously, as you've opted for dual boot, so you can have something other than linux for when you have visitors around.

Well, I have Windows around for various compatibility testing. If I didn't need to check compatibility, I'd be fine. TF2 runs fine under WINE, and I've become somewhat disillusioned with the current trend of samey FPSes being shoved down my throat.

What? No, I drop down the the terminal, then hope lynx is their preferred browser.
