Plus anyone that's willing to buy a card that expensive they're likely to order it from the internet. If it had been in stores like CC or BB the same day it would've been about $50 bucks more there. Prices on the 7800GTX have already come down a little so they're available and not gouging people.

Right now there are over 300 XFX, EVGA seems to be temporarily dried up, the Leadtek there are over 400, BFG's dried up. Remember GGA, Look at the US's retailers, they got tons in stock. Canada really isn't considered important in the eyes of Manufactures, there are much more rich b@stards in the states.

Actually, BB, CompUSA, CC are the ones who don't gouge. They just charge the full list price. Not many places had the 7800GTX below $599 on day one. so the big retailers would have been priced right on if they had the cards. My local BB, CC, and CompUSA have not had any 7800GTX's yet in the stores though. There is a local small shop who has the BFG's for under $599 though if I were looking for one. But yeah, Online with no sales tax is a better way to go on these big-bucks cards.

Yeah, but the huge retailers like Best Buy have not had any 7800GTX's on their store shelves yet. Just PNY's online to my knowledge.

BTW GGA, to take the numbers i've mentioned into context, those has to go around the country, so they've got about 800 total right now, on monday they ship out to how many retailers who wants it? like a good 80 at least? smaller ones get 1 or 2, bigger ones maybe get 20. That definently isn't enough, but there is stock. There's a constant supply of these high end this time coming out of sweatshops, so not to worry. Then again IMO, if the major retailers like ncix get 30-40 of these, it's enough, i don't know how many people buys 750+ dollars video cards.

Yes you're right it is kinda weird how the fact, FS/CS/BB doesn't have stock, yet small computer stores, one that's about 5min walk from where i live, have stock of 2 Leadtek 7800GTX(outrageously priced at 879).

You wanna know a way to get a BFG 7800GTX for $534.36 shipped?

It's from Dell...lol.

A nice little coupon code gets it down from $620 (before tax and shipping) down to 534.36

I just checked and its still good.

I think the strategy is a wise one, but just people shouldn't confuse it with them being widely available eveywhere. The important thing is they are basically available to most people who want them, and that's a good thing. Ignoring the BestBuy's and such is ok as long as there is no gouging, and sofar the prices seem pretty good, even up herethey are 'ok', even if they have gone up about $30-50 since launch prices were first posted.

Funny if you think about it, so many of us would be banned on a closely moderated site. i'd probably be banned for swearing so much, same goes to quite a few other people. And you for double/triple posting.

LOL, dude the stuff said here doesn't even rival what goes on in the OTHER forum.

<A HREF="http://server3.uploadit.org/files/PaulDH-7800gtx.jpg" target="_new">That seems to work for me too</A>. $491 for a BFG 7800GTX through Dell Home. Dell home never used to have NJ tax, only Business. But now home charges NJ tax also. Still a Great deal if only I needed a high end PCI-e card now.

Are those coupons even legitimate to anyone who uses them? I notice this rebate is called Dell Home Customers.

Just wonderin' if they ever have a specific target audience who can use them and if they check for that eligibility.

They have one time use coupons.
They have Dell home, Small buisness, and a couple other specific ones

They dont really double check for everything and usually you can stack 1 $off and 1 %off. Someone in the [H] forums was talking about stacking this deal with a 20% off coupon and he got it down to $380 before tax.

And for that price its the best bang for your buck out there, and its a rediculously fast card.

There is no problem getting the instant discount and adding that coupon code. If it takes online, you'll get that price. Often i enter the coupon codes, click apply and cross my fingers to see if it will stack them. If I had submitted that order, it would have been mine for $491 + tax = $520. <A HREF="http://www.Techbargains.com" target="_new">http://www.Techbargains.com</A> is a great place for getting Dell coupons. Ends up being a good place to buy CRT's and LCD's too at times.

$380 huh, that's impressive. On a quick look I don't see how he did that one.

he guy said he had to call dell to order it over the phone because online wouldn't take his 20% off coupon.
He said 380-390 or something before tax.
Thats insane.
