[SOLVED] think my computer exploded

computer made a few loud popping noises, then a final loud POP. afterwards the smell of burning electronics (?) entered the room. just got a rx 590 graphics card 2 days ago. could someone tell me what happened and how to fix it?

Did you even open up your computer to inspect?

Likely the power supply died. Open up the computer look around and see, you can also try and smell which component is burnt.

Don't really know if the rest of the system is okay. First need to replace broken part

Your power supply probably failed. Did it take other components? Unknown. You will have to unplug the PC, and open it up. Look for burned components or wires. See if you can use a paper towel tube to sniff for the strongest burned smell. Only you have physical access to the computer so only you can search for damage.

yes i opened it, power supply smelled like it. just ordered a new one. hopefully it didn’t mess anything else up? i’m not sure though
