You guys are always so much better at this than I am XD.
I was looking at saving money for a bit longer and do a big computer upgrade, but unfortunately given the current state of the economy, that won't happen for me. So I was thinking about spending what I have, and tossing it a new GPU. I was wondering if I am going to run into any bottlenecking issues with my current build?

CPU - i5-6600K 3.5ghz
RAM - 24.5gb Current
GPU - AMD Radeon R9 390 8gb VRAM

I was kind of hoping to switch back to nvidia for my GPU, even though I have a freesync monitor, I've always liked nvidia more lol. I'm open to anything though! I would would like to be able to play games with decent frames on 1440p

Solution
Would a 2070 Super be worth it? I've got the cash for it, and if it will future-proof me for the next few years, I'd be happy!
I have 2x8gb, and 2x4gb XD... I've been planning on getting 2x16gb at some point in the near future lol
I have no desire to stream, only game :)
the 2070 super is a good value.

why do you need 32 gb of ram?
if you want medium-high settings on 1440p you will need something around a
2060-2060 super for nividia
or rx 5600xt (bios flashed) or rx 5700 for amd
(280-400 dollars for each)
if you only game (not stream) no need for a cpu swap

wtf is that memory capacity

also, since late 2018, freesync monitors can run g-sync on nividia cards.

I might go ahead with the 2070. A friend suggested that I wait for the 3050, lol

I don't NEED 32GB, I just want it for QOL 😛. I'm an admin on a Rust server, and sometimes I want to play another game, but be able to bounce back and forth between Rust and the game I'm playing. Am I wrong in believing more RAM would allow me better performance if I have one game open, and one running in the background?

the only time ram (capacity) matters to performance, is if you go over what you have. if so, everything will crash or run very very slowly.
it either doesnt matter or you will get 5 fps/crash.
the 3000 series is rumoured to be a lot better. but rumors are well, rumours. and we dont know when they will drop/ there are supposedly gonna drop this year but idk
