Hi, recently I bought a second hand pc wich has:

i5-6600k
Asus H170M-Plus
Ram Kingston KHX2133C14 16GB
Gigabyte gtx 1070 Ti
Corsair cx750M 750w
Nox hummer mc case

I added a thermalright peerless assassin 120 cpu air cooler because I wanted to overclock the CPU.
Little did I know that this motherboard doesn't support overclocking.
So I wanted to know if upgrading the mobo would make a difference.
I have seen a second hand asus strix z270f gaming for 50€, it's worth it?
Also, would that new mobo allow me to use more ram speed even if the cpu caps at 2133mhz (using other ram that i have)?

for 50 yes, even a z170 would be ok for this price
i think you can sell a h170 for about 50 as well
Do you know if I can use more ram speed thanks to the mobo capabilities even if the 6600k apparently doesn't support more than 2133mhz ram speed?

Older gen processors like the 6600K can be nicely overclocked. Perhaps by 30%
The Z170 would allow you to try.

But, if I can recall my efforts a long time ago, there is a interaction with ram performance that wants you to not try ram overclocking also.

Ram speed matters little to actual performance if you are using a discrete graphics card.
