Hey guys I am thinking of upgrading my PC after 27th January. I wanted some experts opinion about my [strike]up gradation[/strike] upgrades. Now I have the following specs.

AMD FX6300 3.50GHz
8GB RAM
HD 5450 2GB DDR3
Windows XP x64 SP2 {I had no other genuine OS}

Now I am thinking to upgrade the RAM and GPU and OS for now.
Thinking to get a another 8GB ram in total I will be having 16GB of Ram, a GTX 1060 GPU, And Windows 10 Home.. Please do tell me if somewhere I am going wrong. Well XP i know its unsupported but temporarily I am using it. 😛

RAM: good choice, upgrade to 16GB if your motherboard allows it (check mobo specs first!)
GPU: very good choice, but 1050Ti would be more in line with the rest of your components, CPU in particular.
OS: upgrade definitely

A very nice addition would also be an SSD for a system drive.

Which PSU do you have? Please specify, it might need upgrading as well, especially if it is old or bad quality model.

I have an Antec 450Watt gaming PSU.. And yeah my gigabyte mobo is 78lmt-s2pt

If not for the OS I would recommend you look at an RX480 over the 1060 but they are both good cards. I happen to have a 1060 as there were no mITX RX480 released when I was buying. AMD really seems to have an edge in DX12 titles so if you're looking to get a few years out of your card it could be a wiser investment.

If you do get a 1060 I would favour the 6gb version over the 3gb, some games make use of the extra space and the price difference is small.

PSU is good. As for your mobo, it does support 16GB, but it only has 2 slots. If you have them both filled to get that 8GB, the best option is to sell all of your RAM and get a new DDR3 2x8GB dual channel kit. If only a single stick is being used (8GB), and you still have one slot empty, you would need to get one more exactly same memory module to be somewhat sure that they will work together.

I have used only one slot which has a 8gb stick therefore I will buy another exact same model so that it performs well

I think i should get that 6gb 1060 one
