PC is getting old. I think it might be time to upgrade.

Thinking about building my own PC this time. After a bit of research. I'm thinking about this build. Let me know your thoughts.

Really want to go with Intel for CPU and Nvidia for GPU.

CPU - Intel I7-13700k
CPU Cooler - NZXT Kraken 360 RGB
GPU - ASUS ROG Strix RTX 4070 TI 12GB
RAM - Corsair Vengeance 2x16GB DDR4
Motherboard - ASUS TUF GAMING B760M- PLUS
PSU - Corsair RM850e
Boot storage - Lexar NM790 SSD 1TB
Other storage - Lexar NM790 2TB
Case - NZXT H7 Flow RGB
Extra case fan - NZXT F140 RGB Duo

Mostly for gaming. 3 monitor setup including:
27'' 2560x1440p, 170Hz, 1ms (Main)
24'' 1920x1080p, 165Hz,1ms
24'' 1920x1080p, 60Hz, 1ms

Old setup is:

GPU - Gigabyte RTX 2060 SUPER
CPU - Ryzen 7 2800x
RAM - Corsair Vengeance 2x16BG DDR4
Unsure what my motherboard and PSU are but I can look into it and edit this post if ever.

You might consider keeping your existing motherboard and replacing your 2700X with a 5800 X3D. The performance of it compared to the 13700K is marginal at best and back and forth across games at 1440p. It could at least save you some money unless there is something else about Intel that you require.

See comparison -> Ryzen 7 7800X3D vs. Core i7-13700K, The Best $400~ CPU For Gaming?

What is unsatisfactory with your current setup?
What can't it do? What is lacking?

I'm thinking about this build. Let me know your thoughts.

Paying $800+ for graphics card with 12GB vram? Doesn't seem like a good choice.
I'd suggest waiting till 40 series super cards get released.

I’ve been seeing a lot of frame drops and stuttering from my current build. I recently got a 1440p monitor and with the 3 monitor setup it seems to be struggling, on most games CPU is running at 99% and GPU not too far behind.

I also would agree that going with a 5800x3d would be a good idea. That would open up the budget to a better GPU, at the very least. I would take the savings and step up to a 7900xtx. I also agree that $800, for a 12gb card is not a great idea.
I agree with the switch from an RTX 4070ti and going with AMD’s RX 7900 xtx would be a great option. Similar price, twice the VRAM and better fps in comparison.

A simple CPU upgrade and GPU might do the trick if my motherboard is compatible.

I will definetly look into it!

Thank you

Be sure to update your motherboard BIOS before upgrading CPU.

You don't want to run two M.2 SSD's on a B760 board due to the limited amount of PCIe lanes with that chipset. What country are you located and what is your budget?

You need change nothing.
Some will offer their own brand preferences.

For me, I do not recommend using liquid cooling on a gaming system.
A good twin tower cooler like noctua NH-D15s will do the job at half the price.
13th and 14th gen processors will run as strongly as they can, boosting a few cores which is exactly what a gamer wants.

AIO coolers do not last forever.
eventually, air intrudes or the mechanical pump fails.
Plan on a replacement in 5 years.

Yeah, I believe this is what is happening with my current system.. my CPU cooler is not doing its job properly and causing overheating. I will need to further investigate.

Thank you!

I personally have a 5800x3D at 1440p 165hz. Mostly it's just my 3080 holding me back now. I believe that CPU is still a worthy investment. You will certainly save maybe 20 dollars a year in electricity costs compared to newest Intel build for close enough performance. I feel that the AM4 platform you have now, if compatible, still has some life left in it. A 7900XTX is also a good choice over a 4070 for all of the previous statements. I would make sure you get your cooling handled for the CPU before you get a 5800x3d.
