Third stick of ram causes computer to not boot

So a while back I posted this:

Now that I received the ram when I installed it and the computer did not boot. I tried many combinations keeping the two 2gb stick in the same channel but non of them worked. I also did a memory test on all the ram and they all passed. Doesn't help that the motherboard manual doesn't say anything about odd number ram sticks. as stated in the posted thread motherboard is an MSI P67A - G45 B3. Is the only solution buying another 4gb card?

it doesnt boot with 3 sticks because the system requires pairs (2 of each) to properly work...imagine a 2x4gb or a 2x8gb or a 2x2gb etc...


since you motherboard is dual channel (4 slots to fit...

since you motherboard is dual channel (4 slots to fit ram in) you can either have 2 slots filled or all 4
