You certainly can save a lot of money by going with the i7 920...
They are better overclockers than the i7 940 and the price difference between them is huge and IMHO is not worth at all...
As for the mobo, get the ASUS P6T...It is better than the intel in terms of features...
And for an i7 setup, you should be getting 6GB/3GB/12GB kits...meaning they should be tri-channels kits such as 3X2GB/ 3X1GB kits...
The case CM690 is a very good case...
As for the power supply, get a better one such as the Corsair 750TX, which can power GTX285 SLI...
As for the graphics card, instead of the GTX295, get 2 GTX 275...they would cost you the same and the GTX 275 SLI will outperform the GTX 295...
As for the CPU cooler, the V10 is good but is very big...So check if it can fit the case before buying...
You can also check out the Scythe Mugen 120MM, Xigmatek Dark Knight/ Vigour Monsoon, which also offer very good cooling...
As for the Hard drives, get the WD Black 1TB...they are very fast drives and are better than the 1.5TB Seagates...
And going with such hardware and restricting yourself to a 19" monitor doesnt make any sense at all...So with the money saved by going with the i7 920, invest in a very good 24" monitor...
If you are sticking with the 19", then there is no use going with the GTX 295/GTX 275 SLI...
A single GTX 275 itself will a overkill for that resolution...
