Saw this being bought by a friend of mine and was actually interested as it would be a ncie upgrade from my i3-4170 and gtx 750 ti, but wanted to know if its actually good or there might be some issues, appreciate any info on it

It is pretty good for the price. But, it is refurbished, so look for a new unit from Amazon.
