What happened to the good old days where I could pump my poor little P166 up to a P294.....I tell ya I miss these days! and I didnt do this with increased bus speed I did it by simply flicking a few switches that upped my multiplier.

Now forgive my ignorance on the subject but why did Intel (and AMD) suddenly become so analy retentive on the subject of overclocking when the PII came out? What I cant believe is that there was not an uproar in the CPU community! we shouldve picketed in front of Intels building damnit!!

Sorry enough about my fantasys, but yeah could someone shed some light on this for me, Im really quite curious as to what brought about the dreaded multiplier lock...
And if anyone knows of a site that has information about breaking multiplier locks I'd be oh so appreciative if you would share it :)

Thanks for letting me ramble on

Break them with a hammer......
There was no uproar as only a very low % of computer users even knows that overclocking isnt just like cooking your computer in a microwave. When Mr Joe Casual goes into PC World for a computer he doesnt care.

try www.overclockers.com however if u have Intel u cant unlock them. But if u have Intel smash it and get AMD

Please dont hurt me.....please
