i was just wondering what people thought of this build, approx cost is about $1400 AUS dollars (keep in mind parts in Australia are significantly more expensive than elsewhere)

i plan to use this PC for both gaming (especially FPS e.g. call of duty and battlefield) as well as a media pc, i also wish it to be fairly silent

the components are:
- Intel Core i5 4690K
- MSI GTX 770 Gaming Edition 2GB
- ASUS Z97M-PLUS Motherboard
- Kingston Hyper X Fury 8GB
- Corsair RM-650 80 Plus Gold Power Supply
- Cosair Carbide Air 240 (soon released, dont hate please 😛)
- Samsung 840 EVO Series 250GB SSD
- Seagate Barracuda 2Tb Hard Drive

as you can see, the build doesnt have a CPU cooler yet, as due to the form factor of the case the cheap but effective Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO wont fit as height is restricted to 120mm 🙁 what is a good alternative? i would prefer a cheaper cooler as i wont be overclocking too much but if someone puts up a good argument ill consider a closed loop liquid cooler 😛 being a quiet cooler would also be a bonus!

looks good, i'd suggest using a closed loop liquid cooler as you have very little room and your going for a silentish build, avoid thermaltake as the pumps on them are clearly audible in silentish systems

this was one of my strongest cooler considerations, just wondering
a) straight out of the box, do the fans on this cooler blow the air towards or away from the socket?
b) aestically how does this cooler look though a side panel window of a pc case? (sounds stupid but no point having a side window if it doesnt look nice inside 😉 )

a, probabably air away
b, it looks horrible, no denying
