Some notes you need to know before giving me advice for replacements is that

1. i don't know a whole lot about PCs or builds .. i just want a decent build for $1,500 and then i don't want anything to do with PC builds anymore 😛
2. i'm not planning to overclock at all .. i'm just gonna use the pc as is .. no overclocking.

so i did some research and this build is what i came up with .. i'm just waiting to see some experienced guys' opinions so i can replace whatever needs replacing

i'm even gonna include small things after this short version like the thermal paste cuz who knows maybe i picked the wrong one or something.. like i said i don't know anything about builds ..

MB : Gigabyte GA-Z170X-Gaming 3
CPU : Intel Boxed Core I7-6700
GPU : MSI GTX 1070
PSU : EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G2
RAM : Kingston Technology HyperX FURY 2666MHz DDR4
HDD : WD Blue 1TB HDD
SSD : Samsung 850 EVO 250GB
Case : NZXT Phantom 530

-----------------------

so This down here is the same thing but with amazon links and also i'm going to add everything including the thermal paste, CPU cooler and operating system .. if someone has time maybe they can check those for me make sure everything is good who knows maybe i bought the wrong version of something ( like i said i'm clueless when it comes to pc builds ) or maybe i missed something that i should buy (i almost forgot that thermal paste so there is potential for more).

side questions :

1. The RAM has automatic overclocking .. does that mean i need extra cooling fans ? because i'm not planning to overclock anything in my pc .. i'm just gonna use it as is .. so how is this RAM going to affect me ?

Solution
1. About case, there are lots of midtowers that look good and will get the job done well. No reason, in my opinion, for you to get a full-tower.
2. The RAM link doesn't work. I'd try for faster RAM since price is about the same.
3. K version is better if you want to sell it in future. Not sure why you say K is better if you don't overclock.
4. You need a SSD. Even if 250gb. If you move games then yeah get the smaller SSD.
Hope these help. I'm trying to steer you towards a solid build from someone that knows and has also thought about this stuff.
1. I'd skip the full-tower. It is massive and not needed. Get a mid tower.
2. Might as well get 2400MHz RAM as is about same price.
3. Get the 6700 rather than 6700k
4. CPU cooler. Cryorig H7 looks cooler and performs better.
5. Get a 500gb SSD so you can fit tons of games.
6. Get the i7-6700, not K version, since you won't overclock.
7. How about NZXT Hue + ? Cool RGB lighting

Done, thanks

1. i'm not really going to move a lot so i don't see the downside to having a big case even if i don't need it .. no ?
2. you mean this one ?
https://www.amazon.com/Kingston-Technology-16-PC4-19200...

if its better then why is it cheaper than the 2133MHz ?

3. i looked this up .. it seems like the K version is still better even if you didn't overclock .. am i missing something ?
4. can't find an international seller for this one in amazon .. so idk i might pass on this one.
5. i'm not really the kind of guy to play a ton of games at the same time .. i play one game at a time so i'll have the system and move whatever game i'm playing to the SSD .. i don't think i need it.
6. same as 3
7. eh .. i don't need things just for looks tbh ..

thanks for your advice hope you can reply to these questions.

Solution

can you give me an amazon link to a RAM that is faster and same price preferably kingston .. because i've had positive feedback from people that have used kingston before

also what are your thoughts on the Motherboard .. it was kind of a normal pick from some site so i didn't do a lot of research about it .. not that i will understand anything even if i did.

and last thing can you please check the graphics card link ? there is a gtx 1070 gaming X and gaming (no X) .. which one should i go for ? the price difference is kinda big so idk if its something related to overclocking.

If the RAM must be Kingston and bought off Amazon:
Memory: Kingston FURY 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2666 Memory ($94.04 @ Amazon)
Total: $94.04
OR
Memory: Kingston FURY 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory ($84.12 @ Amazon)

Your mobo is really good, but here is one of the most popular Z170 mobos:
Motherboard: Asus Z170-A ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($158.52 @ Amazon)

Get the Gaming X. Why? Better quality and better cooler. I have a MSI 980ti Gaming one and love it. I really like MSI, but for the price this is a great gpu:
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 8GB SC Gaming ACX 3.0 Video Card ($449.28 @ Amazon)

how about this motherboard ?

https://www.amazon.com/LGA1151-Motherboard-Z170-PRO-Gaming/dp/B0126R3QPA/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1470377963&sr=1-1&keywords=ASUS+Z170+PRO+GAMING

i literally see it as the best MB on every single site in 2016 .. do you think it fits my build ..?

also could be the reason its popular is related to overclocking ? if that's the case i'll pass.

but if not .. should i get the pro gaming or the A-ATX that you suggested ?

and do all these 3 boards discussed in this post support wifi ? i'd really prefer a board that already has wifi built in.

If you won't overclock then save $$ and get a decent H170 mobo:
Motherboard: Asus H170-PRO ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($114.60 @ Amazon)
Most mobos don't have wifi built in unless you spend $250+. Just by a simple adapter that is cheap and works well.
Wireless Network Adapter: TP-Link TL-WN881ND PCI-Express x1 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi Adapter ($25.40 @ Amazon)

I forgot to ask...Is there a reason you only want to use Amazon? There are other companies like Newegg that might have cheaper prices.

Can I ask why so opposed to OC? With even a cheap cooler you get a decent overclock which helps get the most from your really nice gpu and makes the cpu relevant longer than at stock. I'm going to get to keep using my current setup another year or two solely due to OC still keeping up with newer games. $35 and a couple minutes up front saved me having to replace everything sooner.

I 100% absolutely agree with you. By spending a little more I got an extra year of competition out of my CPU. It cost an extra $50 to add overclocking components but I have 0 regrets. With that said, my brother wanted a rig and said no overclocking. I let him choose but looking back I wish I would have made him prepare for it.

My 2500k has been running an overclock of 4.4GHz for 4 solid years. That's a big boost compared to what the non overclock version could do.

If OP doesn't want overclock then so be it. It is less monitoring.

the difference between z170 and h170 is not just the overclocking ..no ?

isn't there a difference in performance and features ? i don't mind spending extra on a better motherboard as long as the difference is not only related to overclocking .. i still don't know which z170 board to go with ..

you didn't tell me if this was a better one than the A-ATX that you mentioned :

https://www.amazon.com/LGA1151-Motherboard-Z170-PRO-Gaming/dp/B0126R3QPA/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1470457127&sr=1-1&keywords=ASUS+Z170+PRO+GAMING

the reason i only want amazon are shipping problems .. shipping to my country is a pain in the ass .. i really don't want to bother buying from 2 different sites.

i might change my mind and get the k version and maybe overclock in the future so .. can you check this for me ?

https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Dcomputers&field-keywords=ASUS+Z170+PRO+GAMING

there is 3 different versions of the z170 pro gaming with different prices .. which one of them should i get ? and what's the difference ?

i'm shipping to Saudi arabia.
