I would either downgrade your motherboard or keep that motherboard and buy an I9.

Pretty nice build however I would recommend the 7700k like the rest and also that monitor is extremely expensive I would look elsewhere for one

My build when I come back to the states give or take. Adding another 32gb ram for the quad channel. And maybe different monitors. All in all its cheaper and much better than the build you are inquiring about. Monitor not priced is ~ 250 and and another another 250 for OS and GPU.

Would of already ordered but I'm getting the 1950x Threadripper most likely.

The 7740x is effectively a 7700k but on a platform where you can't use many of the features, you would do better to get an i7 7700k.

You give decent advice majority of the time. But, price is relevant to the purchaser. Next as always you will tell him get Ryzen if he says streaming, producing. I've seen it a million tiMrs from you.

The 7900x is the best CPU on the market "if you don't care about price" as long as your not strictly playing games. If so, he is better w. The 7700k. I just gave him almost the top HEDT available. Now if you want to save money get a Ryzen.. Amazing CPUs but not as good as a 7900 or 7820 per Toms reviews. I have the money and it seems he does so value is subjective.

Give him advice like I did on how to maximize the 3500E he is spending. Also, he didnt mention this being only a gaming rig. Little things like quad channel or the amount of PCIe lanes can sway someone.

However, therefore should be significantly better.

The value proposition is what I worry about here.
While the 7900X is no doubt the best atm, and I don't want to sound like a broken record; there's simply no proposition for it to be made what with a 1700 running 16 threads for less than half the price, and far cheaper mobos and threadripper coming out soon which will offer much better value for money as well as PCIE lanes and quad channel memory which should be nice.
It all depends what @OP plans to use the rig for. At that price point SLI 1080 Tis is pretty much a must though, which is another thing.
