Hello, all,
I have a friends machine from which I've cleaned all the spyware and virus
problems. When this machine starts in normal mode, the HDD goes through
about 5-7 minutes of solid HDD activity, during which you can't do anything
with it. It eventually stops, but performance remains extremely slow after
that. I've disabled all but the most critical startup stuff in MSCONFIG, but
to no avail. Task manager doesn't show excessive processor usage during this
time. I don't know if this is technically 'thrashing', but what might I
check to see what's causing this and what can I do to stop it?
Thanx,
