Hello,

may you tell us the Threadripper-Settings you used for the Calculix-Benchmark?
We are doing some performance-testing of a threadripper-system on Altair Hyperworks.
Seems like it gets outrunned by a Xeon-E5650 V3 (3 years old).
Best regards

You can look at the "Workstation Compute" benchmarks in the Threadripper review -- https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/amd-ryzen-threadripper-2-2990wx-2950x,5725-11.html And see that TR is easily bested in some software. That specific software may be optimized for Xeon instructions and architecture. An E5-2650 V3 (I am guessing since your part number was incomplete) would be a 10 core Xeon with 4 memory channels. It is quite possible that a memory intensive task could beat a threadripper.
