[citation][nom]ph0b0s123[/nom]OK, then I don't get the point of them if it means that keeping other overclocked components cool will be harder. Also from the looks of the 'fins' on these coolers, most of that hot air will be being kept in the case to keep being recycled by the cooler. Suppose it is not a problem if you have an open bench setup like in the article. Not trying to be negative on purpose, but these things are expensive and just don't seem worth it.[/citation]

Well what's worse? A stock cooler than doesn't get the job donw too well even on max fan speed, heats the entire card up to the point it acts like a lightbulb in your case. or one that does do the job right and heats up your case? The temps between a rear exhaust card and a recirculating fan type card are negligible in a well designed case. So unless your rocking just the PSU fan and a 80MM rear exhaust the difference is going to be less than 5*c IMHO. This is just a guess though it could make the diff between hitting 4.0 and 3.8 but I doubt it when the stock cooler on a 480 lets searing hot air seep past its' shroud almost as bad as the shroud for HD3870s
