Thumb drive only detected on rear USB outlets

Hello,

Like the title says, I have a thumb drive that my desktop PC won't detect when I plug it into the USB outlets in the front of the box. It pops up just fine when I plug it into the back.

Other USB devices work fine with the front USB outlets. The thumb drive works fine on my laptop and on other computers.

I have tried unplugging my power source to reboot the motherboard, and this didn't fix the problem. I am running windows 7 ultimate on an HP Pavilion. Please let me know if you need any more info.
