Time to upgrade my pc?

Hi guys,

I'm starting to experience system failure while gaming semi new games, such as F1 2018.
After playing this game for less than 5 minutes, the game minimize and Windows ask me to deactivate Aero, otherwise i lose performance in-game.
I dont exactly know why, i think my PC still is pretty solid, but perhaps i'm dreaming

i7-4770K CPU @ 3.50GHz
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780- Used to run SLI, but one of them died young 🙁
RAM 8.0 GB
1440p Asus monitor 27" - 60 hz
Microsoft Windows

Why am i suffering from this, do i need to upgrade my PC, and if i do, what parts should be changed?

CPU is still good, I'd upgrade your memory to 16gb and get a better GPU.

Can you recommend a suitable graphics card?
Also, currently i have Corsair DDR3 8GB Ram - 1866Mhz CL9.
Can i just pick another 8GB ram, or do they need to match the Mhz and CL?

Budget for GPU? For 1440P/60hz I wouldn't go with anything less then a GTX 1070.

As for the memory you could buy a identical stick but it may not be fully stable or even work which is why memory is sold in kits.

Does it mean i can buy ANY brand, and any 2x4GB ram stick and it work?

Yes. 16 GB in a dual channel setup is currently the sweet spot.

You have to get a DDR3 kit. The i7-4770k only have a DDR3 memory controller. Also I concur that you want 16GB of RAM.

Haswell (your gen) only supports DDR3.

Also be sure to enable XMP in the BIOS to make sure the memory runs at the correct speeds.

I got my new 2x8 GB ram installed, i'am now rolling with 16 GB ram. Cheers! and thats a lot for the help
