TWC CSR's are liars, lazy, probably on drugs, and not one has a higher IQ than my cat. My cat is 15 years old and pretty smart though. Level 2 support is brain dead. Level 3 are a little bit smarter liars. I have had TWC cable TV since there was a TWC, sometime in the 80's or so.. But I have been dealing with TWC Road Runner since 1999. I moved to where there was only Adelphia, and while I was there, they were bought out by TWC, so back to Road Runner for me again. Then I moved back to where I started and back to TWC again. I know all their dirty tricks with promotions, being "grandfathered in", but then having the rug pulled out from under you. Their adverted speeds are bogus. They work well on some speed tests, but actually measure your speed when downloading something, and it is about half. Upload speed is criminal. They THROTTLE youtube and other video streaming sites. My speed when watching a youtube vid is 256k at times. No data cap? Tell that to last week when I was not allowed to stream anything for three days. I pay the big money for 50/5. That 50 is BS and the 5 is real. In reality it is more like 35/5.5. They oversell their networks, and then lie about it. Mr.m there is no outage in your area. Screw you, mine's out! I must always be the first to report it.. The have frequent outages, but many more WTH times when you just can't load pages because their network is crap and DNS servers are not responding. Or it'll work for 10 minutes and not for 20. But what can you do? They are the only game in town. They have a cable-opoly. So I have TV and phone too. The bill is about $255/ mo for 2 DVRs, a home phone, a couple pay channels (would be same or more if I dropped them because of "promotions" if I want the blazing 5 up). Yes they tie their RoadRunner pricing and promotions all up in a big bow with TV and phone. Drop one premium thing from one service and the entire bill goes up or stays the same with less channels and speed. You have a package. Doesn't make sense to have anything else. Renegotiate in Jan, always. They will get their $$ or you will have nothing but basic cable. I like the Discovery Channel, and HBO, so I pay for 185 channels I never watch. They have it down to a science, except they don't even need to because they are a monopoly. That is why people hate them, because they are gaming the local governments, and there is no competition most of the time. Prices go up, and up and up. It didn't get to $255 by going down or staying the same. That' s a car payment. Funny I have never been asked about my feelings toward TWC on a poll, as I am sure 99% of irked people out there haven't either.
