The strangest thing has happened. I attempted to change the time zone on my computer by right-clicking the time at the lower left corner of the screen > Adjust date/time > Time zone. When I clicked the arrow next to the existing time zone, there were no other choices but the present time zone. I presume that this was caused by installing SP2, since I never noticed such a problem earlier.

I presume that a workaround would be to edit the registry. The starting point would be
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\TimeZones
but I don't know how to add a time zone that does not exist.

How about a better solution?

All time zones are present and accounted for here... so I don't think SP2 caused your problem. Possibly a security issue?

You are right that it was not caused by SP2. I have another SP2 partition, which I don't really use, and all the time zones were present there. Very likely with all the tweaking I have been doing, something caused that time zone problem.

My solution was simple, if not elegant. I exported the Time Zone "section" from the registry of the other partition to a file, and then incorprated the contents of that file in the registry of the original partition.
