How much fps can a Titan X get at triple 1080p 144hz displays. Can it achieve 144hz or is one ultrawide enough.
Razer Stealth and Core when released is what I will be using.
I am building a racing simulator.

Solution
According to synthetic benchmarks, a titan x is only 3% faster than a 980 Ti but at a $350 premium. Also, I think it doesn't overclock as well as a 980 Ti. But if you have the money and just want it because you want it, then feel free. You're not going to see any noticeable performance improvement with a titan x vs a 980 ti. If you search this site for "titan x" you'll see a ton of opinions that support what I'm saying.
It can out put to the 3x 1080p 144hz displays no problem. The issue is can it keep the frames per second at 144. And the answer depends on what game and what settings you have set in those games but 99% of the time one Titan X will not be able to do it.. More than one card is a must for those types of setups IMO..

Probably better to use a single ultra wide monitor. If the games you are using support 3440 x 1440 the Titan X (or better yet the cheaper equally performing GTX 980 Ti) you should be able to maintain 60FPS+ in any racing game I can think of as long as you also have a recommended CPU. Triple 1920x1080 and full 4K will make it harder to maintain high frame rates of 90FPS and above.

Best of luck!

For graphically intense games (e.g. Witcher 3, Fallout 4, Assassin's Creed Syndicate): ultra settings w/o hairworks, GodRays, or AA

GTX 970 @ 1080p achieve 45 - 55 FPS
GTX 980 Ti @ 1080p (ultra settings) w/o hairworks, GodRays, or AA you'll achieve 80 - 120 FPS
2 x GTX 980 Ti in SLI @ 1080p is what's needed to achieve high FPS in triple 1080p or a 3440 x 1440 @ 144 Hz display.

Please take the FPS numbers I posted above with a grain of salt. I don't have time to benchmark, it's just based on my remembrance of when I had the GTX 970. I currently have a 3440 x 1440 @ 60 Hz display.

Also, I discourage you from getting the Titan X, as the VRAM won't likely be utilized above the 6 GB level. A smarter buy would be two 980 Ti's or one 980 Ti and use the saved $350 towards upgrading your CPU to an i7, if it isn't already.

Would you mind stating your full specs, including your power supply mfg and model?

Addendum: I saw that you stated racing simulator. I was just trying to give a more well rounded recommendation. The only racing games that I own are Project Cars and DiRT Rally. I also play a tremendous amount of GTA 5 online.

Two graphics cards and two monitors often works well. You could try 2x980Ti and 2x 2560x1080 monitors. Can't say that I honestly recommend three graphics cards and three monitors though. Adding a third graphics card often means minimum frame rates go down.

Also, don't bother with the wide screen 1080p (2560 x 1080). It's really not worth upgrading to. But 21:9 ratio - 3440 x 1440 is fantastic.

You may want to consider this:

Dell UltraSharp U3415W

It's only 60 Hz and does not include g-sync, but than again it only cost me $699 on Amazon. The X34 Predator is $1,300 I believe. Below are a couple of screen shots from my wide screen to give you an idea of the experience. I personally don't like triple monitor setups because I don't like the blurring effect on the left and right monitors during game play.

Depends on the person but it is so much easier to use. The issue with 3 monitors is you have the bezel so there is a gap between screens which I find annoying. The smaller the bezel the better IMO for 3 way monitor gaming.. The one ultra wide ips will have greater game compatibility as well as needing much less GPU power to run allowing you to get much higher fps than the 3x 1080p setup.

Below are three YouTube videos I found. The first two videos show triple 1080p displays and the last shows Project Cars on a single 3440 x 1440 display. I have to admit the the 2nd video (triple 1080p) is very impressive looking. This guy clearly had monitors with very thin bezels, which is something you should look for if you opt for triple 1080p displays. I normally hate how games look with a triple screen setup, but I have to admit that it looks really good with Project Cars. In the video, I don't notice any of the blurring effect that I normally see. Perhaps this effect can be turned off in other games; I simply don't know.

Then your solution is obvious. There isn't a 3440 x 1440 Hz display currently on the market that does 144 Hz. The X34 Predator is a 75 Hz display that easily overclocks to 100 Hz, and it does indeed have G-sync. So forget that suggestion.

Then just buy three 144 Hz 1080p g-sync monitors. There are only a handful on the market. Ideally you'll want two 980 Ti's, which will cost $1,200 - $1,300 total. You could purchase one card, but you won't achieve near 144 FPS on all three monitors, unless you turn the graphics settings way down. I should mention that when Pascal finally releases, the replacement for the 980 Ti "might" achieve those results on one card, but I somehow doubt it. The replacement is rumored to be 70 - 100% faster but no one really knows for sure.

NewEgg query: 1080p / g-sync
* Notice that there are only four available monitors that meet this criteria and they range in price from USD$399.99 - $599.99.

three displays @ $400 ea. + one 980 Ti = $1,850.
three displays @ $600 ea. + one 980 Ti = $2,450.

three displays @ $400 ea. + two 980 Ti = $2,500.
three displays @ $600 ea. + two 980 Ti = $3,100.

Razer Blade Stealth and Razer Core review:
http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/review/ultraportable-laptops-ultrabooks/razer-blade-stealth-razer-core-hands-on-review-3633124/

Gotcha. Am I correct in assuming that you can only have one Razor core (external GPU bay) connected to your laptop? If so, and assuming that it's a 980 Ti, I don't think you'll likely exceed 60 FPS on three 1080p display or one 3440 x 1440 display. But if the response times on those 144 Hz monitors is better, then go for it. But which option you should select is a decision that you have to make. Watch the videos I posted and see which one suits you best.

By the way, you are the very first person I've ever heard of attempting to connect three displays to one laptop. I previously had a Lenovo X230 connected to two 60 Hz displays that had a resolution of 1920 x 1200 (16:10) but I would only game off a single monitor. And because I only had HD 4000 graphics, most games would refuse to play. Pretty much everyone that does triple 1080p or 1440p setups use desktop computers.

I know you stated your desire to use the Razer system in your initial post, but after giving it some more thought, I'd advise against it. At the very least you should contact the company and have them prove to you that such a plan is feasible. I think you'd be better served building out a workstation. I know you didn't ask that, but I wanted to volunteer my opinion before you invest in this system.

Not even a Titan X has that much GPU power currently. The next gen GPU's coming out this year might be able to do it though. It is too bad they never came out with a dual Titan X or dual 980Ti card (to the best of my knowledge) because that would be perfect for your purposes.
