Currently I own a 4gb RX 480 Asus dual, which is supports crossfire but is there any benefits for crossfire for a 4gb model?
What resolutions do you game on? 1080,1440,4k?
Also what motherboards do you use? What other specs should be considered?
My motherboard says it supports Crossfire but only 1 PCIE runs at 16x, the other runs at 4x

Most of the forums I´ve found only talk about the 8gb version.

My specs are:
CPU: Intel i7 6700 (non k)
Cooler: Cryorig M9i
GPU: Asus Dual RX 480 4gb OC
Memory: 8gb DDR4 Kingston
Motherboard: Gigabyte B150M-D3H GSM Micro ATX
PSU: Antec HCG 750w
Case: Corsair 100r

Hai, My setup are i7-7700K, CF RX470 nitro+ why RX470 because Ihad in in my old rig, so when I upgrade from AMD to Intel, I bought another one to support my CPU.

Anyway, I latter found out that, even your GPU can produce High FPS, but if your Monitor has refresh rate 60mhz, when V-sysn is on u still stuck in 60mhz, Because I am new to PC I relised that after I bout another RX470.

I see no diffrence in gaming, with 1 rx470 u can play ultra setting already with 45-60FPS, in 1080, with another rx470 i still got the same result, because My monitor refresh rate can't go above 60 mhz.

2nd, You have to have good cooling, since 1 GPU giving out heat, it means that adding the second will increase your inner temprature. MOre to say PSU has to increase but RX model line up has very low voltage, for rx470 it take up 140watt, rx480 should be around 150. I used Supperflower green 750watt semi modular to run this card.

3rd some incompitable games will cause your game to freeze, but AMD crimsone will adjust your CF setting whatever has option to CF or not. SO you will not play anygames u want.

Now i wonders why I bougth another card and buy 1 strong card, but is done already and if I have the mood I will sell my 2 cards and get a better 1 single strong card.

What motherboard are you using? And what kind of games do you play? I'm guessing that more and more recent titles are adding support for CF, and in the ones you can, do yo see mayor improvements? Solid 60fps at least? I think AMD made up the hype for CF performance, as most reviews from the 8gb version tend to end in the same conclusion, that CF is not worth the extra money.

It is hz on your monitor not mhz, mhz is what you clock speed is in and even if your monitor is only 60hz you can still get higher fps then 60, if you use vsync then it will lock it to 60.

And if you did crossfire you should get higher fps then with 1 only depending on what game you did test it with.

And why did you add a 470 if you have a i7-7700k you should had went with a 1060 or 1070

What are your thoughts on RX480 in crossfire mode? The 4gb variant? Any experience with it? In theory it should at least provide solid fps on supported games.

I added another rx470 because I had with my other pc when i was still using 880K, since I upgrade totaly to Intel, So regarding why did i not sold my rx470 and opt for better card because I read this forum: http://www.gamersnexus.net/guides/2547-amd-rx-470-crossfire-benchmark-vs-rx-480-and-1070
Adding another card which will exceed the 1060 performance and closser to 1070, I guess i am very experimental person, But I do realise that not all games support CF mode, handfull only and with Vulcan supports games, a single card can boost high FPS, (Vulcan does not support CF mode yet)

I have a budget board mate, Asrock B250 K4 Fatility, Mostly FPS games, but with CF of course you will get solid 60FPS, but again, not all games support CF or SLI, I hope i can sell my 2 rx470 card soon so that i can buy 1060 or 1070...

True, its a mixed bag of situations, some negative and some positive. For a 50/50 chance of getting it to work properly, I think its safe to say a card more powerful will be the best choice. Maybe when Vega comes out, the prices of the 1070 could come down. I would say budget but good all around motherboard you got there. Thanks for your feedback mate, highly appreciated. :)
