To build or not to build?

I have a very common dilemma. I want to build a gaming rig high end, with SLI, however given that new components are coming out somewhat soon (maxwell, broadwell, x99, ddr4, rog monitors with gsync,1440p,144hz) I'm unsure if I should build the rig now or wait... Since the final cost would be around 3500, what should I do?

I would build because we don't know how long it is until Maxwell broadwell, etc comes out
