This is my current build.

I am looking at the Asus PG279Q 27" 2560x1440 IPS. Really want an IPS if possible.

Question 1: With the 1080ti GPU will it benefit me to get G Sync?

Also there are several other 1440 monitors I am looking at but they are only 60hz.

Question 2: Would I be satisfied with only 60hz for gaming?

Finally are there any other monitors you would get before the Asus PG279Q 27" 2560x1440 IPS for a budget up to $800? Thanks for the advise

question 1 = yes
question 2 = IMO 60Hz is way to slow for gaming. I personally use a asus 240Hz 1080p monitor with my 1080 ti and i wouldn't have it any other way

At 1440P and 165hz, G-sync is the only way to keep things smooth. You won't get 165fps in every scene in every game.

60hz gaming. What are you gaming on now? I find 60hz gaming to be fine. Others want a faster refresh rate. I tried faster ones, but settled on this one because it had the clearest text and that mattered more to me.

What would I get over the Asus 27"? The LG 32".

Just over your budget at 850. VA not IPS.

That is a matter of taste. I own IPs, va and tn panels. My main use on is a VA 32 inch panel that is qhd, but not the fancy lg I linked to.
It is a Philips.

The LG is 144hz and gsync. Mine is as good visually, but only 60hz and not gsync.

I recently bought the PG279Q, and I also have a 1080 Ti.

My experience with it is amazing. The PG279Q is absolutely amazing. I have zero backlight bleed too, but I think that's the modern standard these days for the recent PG279Q (the early 2016 PG279Q had some BLB issues), so I wouldn't be worried about that.

I did quite some research before buying this monitor since its expensive. I came to a conclusion that it's simply the best and most perfect monitor I could get for 165hz IPS and 2k (1440p) + Gsync . And it's certainly doing its work and its amazing. Also design is great (although it doesn't matter THAT much to me)
Couldn't recommend more.
