Hi I have been reading a lot on this website about building and upgrading computers and have bought some parts to upgrade my Dell Inspiron 580s machine.

The base machine is:

CPU: Intel i3-540 (3.06GHz, 4MB cache)
RAM: 4GB 1333MHz DDR3 (2x2GB)
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce G310 512MB DDR3
PSU: 250W.

The parts i have bought to put in it are:

RAM: 8GB 1333MHz DDR3 (2x4GB)
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX750 Ti 2GB GDDR5
PSU: 350W

What I am wondering is should I consider upgrading the CPU to an i5, and if so what type?
I know i'm somewhat constrained by the PSU, 350W is the highest i could find (from Seasonic, a decent brand) in a TFX form factor.

Or should i leave it at this and start saving to do a full build (which i'd like to do one day anyway).

I use it mainly for programming, circuit design, 3d modelling and am starting to mess around with computer graphics and game development.

Thanks in advanced and if theres any more info you want/need let me know!

Looking at the GPU, I would highly recommend you for complete new build, because for GTX 750 Ti it would require gold series PSU with at least 450W
