Today I was playing mafia 3 and there was a load popping noise please help

Today I was playing mafia 3 on my pc, which I have upgraded the hardware on, and then all of a sudden a loud popping noise happend and then my pc shut off instantly and wouldn't come back on, my pc specs are:

Fx 8350
Nvidia geforce 1050 Ti
Asus aura 970 pro gaming
500w psu (not sure what brand)
8gb ddr3 ram (not sure what brand)

Most likely the PSU.
What brand is it? Youll have to open the PC up and check.

It doesn't actually say a brand but it is made in China and it says model: atx-500B on the side

That makes it even more likely to be the issue.
I would look into a replacement for that unit, even if it wasnt the issue.

Is there anyway I can be sure that it is a psu problem if not I will have to take the risk

You could try the paper clip test to see if it powers anything but I would still probably just buy a new one of good quality, a good 500-550w would be enough

Yes, it is a cheap PSU and there is a good chance it took out something else. You wont know til you get a quality PSU and install it.

Turns out my old psu must have blown so I got a 650w corair and now it has all come back on thank you all for your help
