I have had problems logging back into regular tom's hardware account. Whenever I try to login with my account name & password it fails with the error "Unable to configure verification page." Generating a new password also fails. Logging in with goggle works, but not into my Tom's Hardware account.
Is there a moderator that could help me out.

Solution

I sent them an email explaining the situation. I also sent them screenshots of the two errors that I've been getting.

The one about "Unable to configure verification page" is an error that I haven't seen before. A google search doesn't give a lot information. It pertains to a failed login after creating an account.

I did find something that is possibly useful.
'Unable to configure verification page' - This is after you create the account but fail to login. Check your browsers...

Assuming your other account is: terry4536

If this is the case, then I do not see any sanctions against this account which would prevent you from logging in. I'd suggest waiting a few minutes and then trying again. I've seen where it's taken near an hour for some issues to resolve themselves.

If you continue to have issues with the above account, please send an e-mail to community@tomshardware.com explaining the issue.

I have already done so. I usually Firefox to login to Tom's. Yesterday evening I cleared the recent browser history and did a hard boot. When it came back up, I ran the anti-malware software. Once that was finished, I restarted the system and logged back in. It failed with that weird error (unable to configure verification page). It has doe exactly that at least a half dozen times. I've tried it on a different browser, with ad blocking on or off. The errors always occur within the Tom's login.

I've also tried resetting the password, but it returns an error as well. The exact error on resetting the password is "There was an error processing the password reset."

I just tried both login and password change with the exact same errors (about 15 hours after first seeing the error).

'Unable to configure verification page' - This is after you create the account but fail to login. Check your browsers setting for 3rd party cookies. If they are not enabled then you need a 'Cross-Origin Verification Fallback' url entered in the Advance Settings at Auth0. Says it needs HTTPS to work. That is going to be hard to do with localhost so I just enabled third party cookies and it worked

I went into Foxfire options and set the third party cookies to visited and an exception for Tom's. Either that worked or my email to your provided address worked. I was able to login.

Thanks for your help.

It is something with firefox and tomshardware. I haven't had issues with edge but suddenly can't log in anymore with firefox. I made an exception for cookies but it still doesn't work for me. I wasn't sure if it was firefox itself or the addons (adblock, noscript) but I tried temporarily letting every script through, disabling adblock on that page and still unable to get past the authentication. I haven't had issues on firefox until a few days ago.

I've been having the exact same issue the last few days in my Firefox-based browsers. I can log in fine in Vivaldi (Chromium-based), but in Firefox or Palemoon I get that error. It's possible that it could be related to an extension or security setting, though I tried disabling some extensions and adjusting certain settings and it didn't seem to make a difference. I don't believe the login page had that star logo before, and I think the issue started at the same time that appeared, so it's likely related to some update to the login script that the developers didn't test adequately in different browsers.

I have the same issue with Firefox as well, maybe the managers/devs can look into that?

Seems with Opera it does work. Also noticed that login Auth0 tool which seems to have to do something with it.

What i notice in Firefox is that connection to this website is recognized as "unsafe"? Could this be because of wifi connection? Does the Auth0 recognize that?
Might also be about not being encrypted? Firefox states that this site does not send encrypted data.

Seems that enabling third party cookies does the trick, enabled them with me to "visited" which seems fine. Had more windows of Firefox open which somehow made enabling them not take effect,i did try it before i posted. Think btw that i tried "always" at that moment.

Got a reply from an "Assistant Community Manager" by email just now, since i tried that email adress above. Did let him know as well.

It's solved for me.

Yeah, it looks like a third-party cookie is required for login now. I was able to get it working by temporarily switching third-party cookies on, then using a cookie management extension to find the cookie that appeared when logging in, which was "auth0" from "purch.auth0.com". I then set that cookie to "allow for session", and was able to turn third-party cookies off again, and the login page seems to be working fine now, even after a browser restart.

I used the extension "CookieKeeper" for this, which is available at the official Firefox addons site, although it doesn't look like it's compatible with Firefox Quantum. It should still work with Firefox ESR and Pale Moon though.

That seemed to work, thank you.:) Needed to add the underscored in "exceptions" as HTTPS to make this work.(capital letters just to make clear the "S" needs to be added,so not just http://)
