^ I use a short piece of W/c tubing between mine,
non-conductive and squishy enough to cushion things :p
for the other comment, I meant I could do with ssd's being maybe £45-50 for a 60Gb :p
@McGhee, why do you say it always looks terrible by comparison? looks fine to me man, airflows clear enough :)

Because looking at all the other pictures, mine always falls short. Airflow is good, but the asthetics is bleh

so who here, which one of you clowns.... :pt1cable:
is going to help me clock this sucka..?
can I run stock voltages and just hit the multi to about 4.2GHz or is there more to it than that.?

haha yeah, that is all you basically do. Just increase the multi till it is unstable then increase voltages till it is stable at a multi that you like. As for me, I decreased voltages :D 4.5ghz at an offset of -.100 :D

I'm sure I can get my clock a little higher but 4.4ghz is where I stopped (just to be on the safe side). The +.05 allows my stock voltage to increase by that much as needed I believe. I also have C1E enabled so my CPU can throttle down speed whenever I'm not using it (or doing anything extreme).

Different voltages are being used. Not sure about his, but with mine when I run Prime95/Intel Burn Test my Vcore is 1.184 and sometimes spikes up to 1.2 but it stays mostly at 1.184.

What an offset does is it takes whatever the VID you have, and subtracts or adds your offset. VID is how much Vcore your CPU tells your mobo that it needs to run. However, that does not mean that is how much Vcore it is given. You'll have to check CPUz to see how much Vcore is actually provided.

Dang, I wish I could get a CPU upgrade right now, been awhile since I've overclocked. Leaving the ol' 955 at 3.6 on stock voltage. Next upgrade would probably be the 7850 or 7870 :D Can't wait to overclock those monsters.

Yea, my voltage is right around where yours is at, however with the "spike" that happens ever so often, is why I chose offset over fixed value. My board doesn't actually stay fixed when set on it, which I've read has been a fault on many other ASRock E3G3 boards.

EDIT: However, the K's are awesome overclockers and adjusts voltages themselves pretty well (which is why you can pretty much leave everything on auto and bump up the multiplier and still be pretty stable).

Hmm, I might treat myself to a new mobo this year, too many problems with the P8P67.

What are the best manufacturers other than ASUS? I have been looking at Gigabyte (heard good things about Gig mobos) and MSi. Also how are EVGA mobos?

How big is your raptor? I wanted a 600gb one they're too much out of my budget :(

You'll notice some pretty nice performance increases with the 2500K. I had a low end G620 processor with a GT430 and could barely play Nukem on max settings at 1360x768 res, but when I ran that same card on my 2500K setup, I could play on max settings with eye candy enabled!

So guys, let me know what you think of my build. Just added some cold cathodes lights and a few Coolermaster Sickleflow 120mm fans tonight, literally just got done installing them after I got off work haha, couldn't resist it. ;p

I'll have my 2nd 5870 tomorrow so crossfire should be interesting lol. :D
