also states that AMD might not be using it after-all either..
WTF.
compensating with a heavier interface, most will be 384-bit and 512-bit instead of 256-bit with GDDR5 for nVidia.
we'll have to see how it goes.
rambus = boo.!

Yeah I dunno... we'll have to see.

I want to see XDR2 NVIDIA or AMD, doesn't matter to me. It's efficient and fast = better. The military is using it for a reason... cost may be a big factor though.

hi guys
this is my current build . i know this isnt the best example of a great cable management or kickass hardware but its a work in progress.the case is cooler master elite 430 and it dosent make cable management easy. i am going to order a new nzxt tempest evo which will be better with cable management.
and dont even start on my psu being upside down..

Cooler Master Hyper 212+ Cooler

this pic is a bit old.will shoot new pic as soon as i can. i have upgraded to the push pull config for the cpu cooler now by adding the CM 120mm blue led fan that can run at 2000 RPM and 90cfm airflow. and by doing so i am able to reduce the load temps from about 65-67 to 54 degrees celcius.

sorry for not posting the specs before.

i will be upgrading to the asus sabertooth 990fx board soon
and as mentioned before the nzxt tempest evo (or possible a phantom ) may help reduce the cable clutter

Yeah have you considered reapplying the thermal compound? The hyper 212 should be keeping those temps at half that. They should only be reaching 45-50@max not normal operating conditions. My phenom II with a single fan on the hyper 212 never got above 32c while under load / gaming and that was with an overclock

i thought 54degrees c isnt bad considering the ambient temp is about 30-32 deegree. but i will reapply the thermalpaste that came with the cooler. i used the cooler master thermal fusion this time but i think i should switch back to the one bundled with the cooler also i havent fully tightened the cooler on the board do u guys think i should try increasing the mounting pressure step by step and monitor the temps

I see a lot of people have been busy in the past week! My own upgrades were postponed for budget problems :fou:
Nice touch. I also agree with Mal that you should replace the stock CPU cooler. The system will run more quietly and stay cooler.

Looks great and nice overclock. I like where you placed the CPU radiator.

Awesome temps! I love the BF3 output to the Vizio TV. Are you using an extension for the keyboard?

That is one bright PC. Interesting concept on the graphics' coolers. I wonder how the acoustics compares with other 570s.

Much better pics :sol: and I like how your PC colors match the your wallpaper.

<<UPDATE>>

Hey all,

I posted my build on page 26, and just Modded my Fractal Arc Midi, so it has a window. Let me know what you think.

^^ Yes, I know I need to clean out my grille. lol ^^
IMG_0578.jpg

Now I need to think about case lighting. :bounce:

EDIT: If you're wondering . . . I got the window kit HERE

Yeah, when I got it, I wanted to have the ability to control up to 8 fans, but I only have 4 case fans and 2 on my rad (eventually going to get 2 more for push/pull), but they're controlled by the H100 thingy. In hindsight, since I just have them on full blast all the time, it may have been a wasted purchase . . . looks cool tho. haha

Hey Moto,

When you say a few "well placed" accent LEDs would look good . . . can you elaborate? lol. I'm crap when it comes to stuff like this and I've been scouring the net for a good case lighting guide or something. I was just going to get an LED strip and run it around the rim of the case, but I'm sure you or someone else on the forum would have a better idea. 😀

Nah, you can use the two spare knobs for dimming lights in the meantime if you are so inclined,
mine looks nothing like they made it lol and has never seen a drivebay 😛
**Edit, well-placed, I mean like grab a couple of leds the colour you want, a load of wire and have little 'spotlights' at specific spots, maybe highlight a sb heatsink or between gfx cards, tasteful stuff :)
like the one between the drives in this

Maybe so, but its to do with my rig nonetheless 😉
Another thing is finding another 480 for a reasonable price is rather hard.
But i found one on ebay new shipped free for £220 from hong kong so that may be what i will get :)
I believe this thread is for pics of rigs and maybe some comments or questions about said rigs. Im sure tecmo said in the beginning post that it isn't a worklog and such and is for pics of finished rigs, not works in progress. Once you get your upgrades installed, post some pics!

Well, might as well post my system on here! 😀

Replacing the retension brackets on the heatsink fans was actually very simple and now my case looks much more sick.

Lmk what you guys think about it <3

wow its a nice build.....

but i really cant seem to recall the last time i saw someone build a rig w/2 optical drives......

+1 for old school!!!
