My rig.

Perhaps not as brilliant as most of yours but it "does a job"

Here are specs:
Case : CoolerMaster
PSU : ModXtreame Pro700
Mobo : ASUS M4A79XTD
CPU : Phenom II X4 965 3.4GHz
RAM : G.Skill 4GB 1333MHz 8-8-8-24
GPU : ASUS GTX560Ti 1GHz (830MHz ver )
HDD : Seagate Barrracuda SATA II 3GB/s 500GB
Cooling : Arctic Cooler 7 v2
Others : Lamptron FC5 V2 + 2 fans
: LG DVD RW 24x

CPU temperature in idle is 26-27C , moderate us 36-37C, gaming ( tested with battelfield 3 on ultra details 4hrs ) 51-52C
Battelefield 3 (ultra details) : 40-60 FPS
Crisis 2 ( full details ) : 45-70 FPS
Witcher 2 ( ultra details ) : 30-50 FPS

I did some test last days i run Battlefield 3 on ultra with FRAPS in the backgroung capturing frames at full resolution @ 30 FPS writing it on HDD and
max temperature i got was 56-57C ( ! ) however system worked stable.

Conclusion: good enough to run everything , cheap rig.

^ agree but if you can clearly see where someone swiped their finger thru the dust on the cooler, u mighta rushed it a bit. I jab. Mine's dusty too, and damnt I broke a wheel so I gotta figure out how to lug a 150lb pc to the garage so I can blast it.

Edit: Sorry I hope you appreciate the humor. I'm assuming you do, so I can't stop. That graphics card gives new meaning to "FurMark"... how much fur can a furry fan flay, before a furry fan flays no more?

flay (fl)
tr.v. flayed, flay·ing, flays
1. To strip off the skin or outer covering of.
2. To strip of money or goods; fleece.
3. To whip or lash.
4. To assail with stinging criticism; excoriate.

Ok, I'm done. All I'm saying is its a great rig, but damn dude, unless you have emphysema, you can blow most of that dust off like they did back in the Dark Ages, and then take some sweet pics. I know I've got you laughing at least a little bit, so... there you go.

LoL yea it is right, my rig can feel a bit neglected I suppose xD

That GPU fans are down below and ir would need taking off whole unit to clean them :)
But one day if I get a min who knows :)

Leaves blower os great idea after all, ultimate solution however costy a bit :)

Thanks for the response and additional pictures. I find it a little funny that the Zalman cooler is massive, yet you can only see half of it in the window :na: . If I find an excuse to upgrade my CPU and motherboard, I really want to see that cooler inside my Raven 3 :sol: . Regarding the NIC, I think it is more Steam than the NIC since routers outside your LAN could bottleneck the connection. Great use with the LAN though. The MARS II will bend simply due to its own weight  . In any case, you definitely made up lost time :sol: .

What resolution are you playing at? Where do you have the case fans installed? I though I saw one in the second picture, but not in the first.

Well spotted xd
Picture showing inside of my PC has no fans cause I was in
the process of replacing one of them. The small one in the top
of the case which is temporary is meant to blow air out.

Second fan is on the left sidewall which is not shown.

Side wall fan nrings the air on, blowing it in below the GPU
and between GPU and CPU (big fan is a bit of custom job).
Air reading near heatsink is 26-34C (idle-load).

For some reason I dont want a full size case, size of it its way too mich for me.

"Memphis" was finalized in 2010 by adding to some old components from my first build "Katherine" put together 12 years ago.

Motherboard: Asus P7P55D-E Pro
CPU: Intel Core i5 750 @ 2.67 GHz
HSF: Pentium i5 stock
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 4 x 4Gb
GPU: ATI Radeon HD 4670
PSU: Thermaltake TR2 500W
HDD1: Western Digital 120Gb 7200rpm SATA (OS, primary drive)
SSD: Kingston 64Gb SATA II 3Gb/s (Games)
HDD2: IOmega 1Tb USB 3.0 External Drive (Storage, Adobe CS5 files and projects)
ODD: Samsung SH-S222A
Case: Athenatech A747SS-Q350
Case cooling (rear): Thermaltake 5600 rpm Fan
Monitors: Acer X233H / Acer AL1706
Speakers: Logitech Z640 5.1 Dolby Surround (mobo audio)
Keyboard/Mouse combo: Logitech YSV-39 w/ cordless Mouse
OS: Windows 7 Home Ultimate SP1

New build coming up at end of 2011!

Will have:
Corsair Performance Pro 128GB SSD (finally, a proper SATA II 6Gb/s Marvell-driven SSD!)
Corsair Obsidian Series 650D Mid Tower Case (sleek, tight and sick)
Noctua NH-D14 CPU cooler (aw yeah, baby - can't wait to OC with this puppy - just hope I can clear my RAM!)
Corsair Vengeance K60 Keyboard (how beautiful are these?)
Corsair Vengeance M60 5700dpi Mouse (not the best but damn snappy - matches my keyboard too!)
... and my first foray into overclocking!

Pix to follow...

I bet you won't miss that for a minute. It appears to require its own separate "case" to avoid dangerous debris and disrupting any local seismographs... hehe... I don't have one. Is it loud? Are you throttling it to compensate, if so?

I like the cohesion you'll bring to the overall build by sticking with Corsair for so many of the products. Sometimes its tricky to stick with "all from one company" design because maybe some items are not at the top of price vs performance charts, so mixing/matching the best of the best is one way to go, but a cohesive look all-around is nice too, and there's not much to worry about going with Corsair.

Your speakers remind me of my old set that when "missing" (I think someone "borrowed" them). I also agree with clonazepam about the matching parts. With the upcoming rig, you should hear a big difference in the coolers and fans. Good luck.

@clonazepam
Hehehe... yeah, that Thermaltake case fan is a piece of work. I bought it 12 years ago for the "Katherine" build. And it's damned loud. I had it throttled by the mobo but I found it more disconcerting to hear it fire up and go silent as the cooling needs required. And you hit the "flying debris" issue right on; you should see the stuff I have to pull out of it every now and then!

Actually, turns out I find the sound of fans very soothing so I have both it and the HSF running full blast at all times.

The Corsair cohesion is really by accident. After researching the upgrades I wanted, the Corsair products just seemed to rise to the top when it came to value and need. Their Vengeance took to my system like a fish to water and I'm very satisfied so I'm happy to give them more of my money!

@ChromeTusk
It wasn't me, I swear! :ange:

@malmetal
Not a huge gamer but I've played CS 1.6, Crysis 2, COD Black Ops/MW3, and Far Cry 2 at full resolution with all the bells and whistles and no probs.

Wee-eell Crysis 2 did freeze up in the final battle...

Definitely a Back to the Future feel to "Memphis" but I research my components thoroughly so that I get what I want for the longest time possible!

Prolly not the best forum to talk about this though! 😉

It might just be me but it looks like your 212 is crooked

hmmm yeah it is, the ram dimms are straight on vertical and the pic is not experiencing a fish eye effect to give an optical illusion of tapering.

Astute observation flint!

* the lights on that rig are blinding... :/

wow it is crooked! Good catch! I just straightened it out but looks like i need to tighten it down more?? Is that the screw under the heat sink?

The lights are not really blinding at all. Camera is just not good at taking pics. It is actaully quite subtle lighting 😉

** The cooler master blue light IS blinding though **

The screw under the heatsink should be tightened, and the actual x mount with the 4 screws should be tightened almost all the way
I have the 212 as well and have it tightened just until it starts to bend and it doesn't go anywhere

The 212 is an epic cooler when paired with some high performance fans and a nice ambient temp.
I reached a dizzying 4.5ghz on my phenom 😀
Im at 4.0 on my FX (go ahead give me *** but its much faster than my old phenom II) and the temps are very low. I would recommend the 212 to anyone wanting to not spend alot of money but wanting good results.

it is and was cheaper @ 109 bux and was an upgrade over my 925 which was over 2 yrs old and tbh not running all that well anymore. It was a nice experiment until the next stepping comes out. I didn't want to waste the money on the 8150 or the 6 core FX if i knew i was going to wait for the next series to come out q1 2012. The 955 is better with c2 stepping? I had my 925 at a faster clock than a 955 and the FX @4.0 is noticeably faster by a considerable margin, or were you talking about clock per clock with an oced 955?
