Okay, here's my new temporary video card until Keplar comes out! (This one will then go into my HTPC hehe)

Also, some overclocking has been done:
- 2500K = 4.0ghz
- DDR3 1600 = 7-7-7-21
- 448 Cores = 900/1800/2200

yep, as soon as i get my watercooling going i will bring it up to 4.5 and the cards to 580 speeds.

Hopefully when Kepler releases, that'll be enough reason for me to upgrade video cards on this main rig! I do a lot of moderate gaming (mainly one player games) on my TV and the cheap little GT 430 isn't holding up too well when I want to crank up the graphics!

I just upgraded my system with a brand new motherboard, CPU, and RAM, so here's my semi-new build:

Corsair 800D
Corsair AX1200
EVGA x79 FTW
i7-3960x @ 4.4GHz
Corsair H100 cooler
32GB (4x8GB) Corsair Dominator DDR3-1600 (yes, 32GB 😀)
2x EVGA GTX 580 superclocked
Asus Xonar Essence STX sound card
Assorted hard drives (including an 80GB x25-M for boot, 2x300GB velociraptors for apps, and 5TB of other storage for various files)

Cable management still needs a bit more work (I just finished the reassembly, and have been stress testing the overclock rather than cleaning up the cables), but it still looks fairly good if you ask me...

Yep - I had an i7-965x with 12GB of RAM, and right now, it's just sitting in a corner. As soon as I get this new comp tweaked and fully tested though, my dad gets my i7-965 as an upgrade from his old Q6600 system.

(I'll pretty much definitely be using this though - my main motivation for this build was my classes in computational fluid dynamics that I'm taking in the spring, which will be able to use as much power as I can throw at them).

I've heard good things about the Asus Xonar Essence STX, is it worth it? and can you tell the difference between onboard and the Xonar?

I like it, and I could definitely hear a difference between my old onboard sound (P6T deluxe) and it, but I am using a pretty nice stereo setup, as well as some fairly high-end headphones. In most headphones or computer speakers, I doubt you'd notice much of a difference (I'm kind of picky about sound though).

i think il upgrade the mobo for something more stable and then the psu to modular and the gfx cards to 7970's or singe 7990.

and the case is the xigmatek esylium. THIS THING IS MASSIVE!!!! even the sr2 fits easily in there!!
