I would love to have gone (sadly this was on the other side of the country for me). I actually been looking at both of these monitors. Both are pretty much exactly what I am looking at (1440p, 144Hz, and IPS). I am really interested in reading the article about both these monitors. And if Gsync/freesync are truely worth it. I am running a GTX970, so I am leaning towards the acer one more.

thanks i try 😀 i also hope the actual fps, varied or constant, is eventually revealed as well. that is pretty much the conclusion to me. write about each pc and what the folks thought about it. do some compare and contrast between them and finish up with the reveal of what each system ran and what fps was actually present. another angle is a single player moving between the systems and comparing them. then at the end we can see what that player favored and disliked. this type of technology that is supposed to enhance the experience can only be judged in a blind test to keep brand biased out of the way.

would love to see system reviews done the same way. build some pc's with various resolutions and quality levels and see if folks can pick the difference. just curious more than anything.

Any pixel that is not refreshed is going to go dark. Even if the image is totally static it has to be refreshed constantly. I think there are some e-readers that save power by not requiring a refresh, but the technology cannot be used for something like gaming because it is more acceptable for a slight delay in turning the page, but would never work for a fast pace game. The fact that a monitor needs be refreshed may seem like a problem, but it is the very thing that allows the picture to move and not just be a nice picture hanging on your wall.

So guys, it's been over 2 weeks since the event. How long until we will hear the results? Also it would be nice to see an updated article about G-Sync as well as the FreeSync article as I'm sure things have changed in the last 18 months. It would be especially great if you can find out from Nvidia when they hope to have displayport 1.3 support for higher resolutions and refresh rates as well as a discussion of the future of both technologies. Looking forward to the articles.

I know they were going to try to get it out by the end of July but the look on Chris's face gave more of the.... 1st or 2nd week of August, "look".

😀
