Awesome, ignore the haters, some people are a little slow to catch on to new tech :)

I don't get it. You already post links to your own articles on your own front page, surely I can just visit toms to see your articles... and most of your "news" is links and information from other sites, so again, if I want news aggregation the way you do it I can again visit toms homepage

are people really that lazy that they need websites to start pushing information to them so that they can ignore most of it?

I don't hate twitter, I just don't see any value in it

Twitter is used allot by software developers (bloggers and alike), seems doesn't have that much of a traction for hardware people (or the rest of the IT world)... :-|

[citation][nom]curnel_d[/nom]Why do I think you had alot to do with this, jane? I've checked it out a bit, but twitter is just not for me. Hopefully you guys have fun with it though.[/citation]

Like I say, they signed up in October and no one told me until yesterday. I had nothing to do with it.

[citation][nom]hillarymakesmecry[/nom]Thanks for providing us something no one wants.[/citation]

Strange, several people posted comments before yours insinuating that they do want the service and will use it. They also have nearly 300 people following them on Twitter after being active for less than a day. You may want to go get your old maths books out and look up how to add 1 + 1 since it seems your abilities of deduction are a little on the weak side.

I use Twitter occasionally, I'm surprised about the hatred for it here! I'm following TomsHardware!

Don't listen to the haters Jane. If the don't want to use it.. why do they insist on bringing it up? It's here for us people who actually use Twitter.

Twitter, nothing but big hype. Come next year it won't even be around. I just don't see the point in using it. There is this great thing called e-mail that achieves what twitter already does.

Twitter just makes it easier. If im on the internet on my phone, seeing all the headlines from toms news, evga, AMD, and whatever else all in one place is just better then taking the time to go to each individual page

The idea behind twitter isn't to follow people. It's a good source for people who want an RSS feed, but don't have access to one - e.g. I can get my phone tweeted with updates from here. Now do I want these updates from people i know? No. But it would be nice if, say, I was bored on the train ride home and then suddenly knew that xxx was released, or something. Then I could drive straight to wherever to get it, instead of going home, getting into "home clothes", logging in, finding out that xxx was released today, getting dressed back up, going out... etc. etc.

Or I can buy an iPhone and- er, wait, no not going to, I'll just listen to tweets.

[citation][nom]captaincharisma[/nom]twitter is the biggest waste of space on the net. who cares what someone is doing every minute of the day[/citation]
Twitter isn't necessarily to see what someone is doing every minute of the day. I use it to tweet out something that I find interesting on the web, or to ask questions, or even to carry out convos with my friends. I've only recently had two convos with two different friends, one about XKCD and one about E:TW. Albeit, I can use email, but twitter is a more interesting and easy to use format, and the 140 character limit can be annoying, but for bigger convos, email serves me well. But it lets me keep in touch with my friends and helps us communicate with each other faster.

No wonder they didn't! I'm sure they were as ashamed of being there as I would.

How does this make us stupid? Really? I mean, I get that you're not into Twitter, I do, but how does the fact that you don't like it make us stupid?

Alright so a lot of you aren't into Twitter but is us being there ruining your experience on Toms Hardware? Nope. Are we making it a requirement to join twitter to access the site? Nope.

If you're going to disapprove at least post something mature.

No no, not the fact that I don't like Twitter makes Toms Hardware stupid but the fact that Twitter is mainly used by morons for moronic purposes makes Toms' stupid. Besides the unforgivable fact that Toms Games was stabbed in the back to get replaced by a flashgame section which a.o. things contained, and maybe still contains, japanese hentai kiddy porn!!

Let's put it this way:
Being on Twitter just made Toms Hardware shitter.

Completely understand that you're unhappy about the Tom's Games change, which affected you directly. I just don't understand how something that is completely "opt-in" makes us a bad site.

Adding an additional service that doesn't specifically cater to your own personal desires makes a website worse?

It looks like the world's about to fall apart now. After all, most world leaders, party candidates, governments, big businesses, big news organisations all must be "morons" by your declaration. What a healthy outlook on life you must have.
