Hi all,

Hi currently bought a new Mobo and CPU, because my previous one just started to quit me... So I bought a Asus P5Q-E with a C2Q 6600. The problem is that my memory has gotten bad too, I've got lots and lots and lots of BSOD since 1 week. So I'm looking on replacing it but I'm stucked on 2 questions:

DDR2-800 or DDR2-1066 (higher than PC-8500 cost too much for me, since I want 4GB on vista x64)?

And wich brand between those:

I'm planning on overclocking my system, but since it will be my first one, it won't be extreme, but maybe in the future i'll push that a bit farther.

And I'm using my computer for gaming (COD4, Crysis, WIC, etc) and some CAD too.

So wich would you suggest and at which frequency?

The 1066 is really only useful for hardcore overclockers.

If it's not available get quality DDR2 800 2x2 GB 1.8v
You can check Newegg for info on which RAM, then look for the same RAM on NCIX

Ok, thanks for your suggestions, but why do all people say that DDR2-800 (PC6400) is more overclockable than DDR2-1066 or higher??

If you overclock your memory from 800 to 1066 or 1200 (if it is possible... don't know, i'm really newbie in overclocking) is there any advantages against directly buying those frequency and overclock them higher? Except paying less for them... If I push a 800 to 1200, instead of buying directly 1200, won't it just be hotter than the stock 1200 for, at the end, the same performance??
