considering that the charts make the assumption that the EverCrack addicts actually got out of their basement to go to the store to buy an expansion...yeah right...

Sims at the top of the heap shows how many nerds without any lives play video games on their PCs. Sure I have a good video card that can run 140 FPS for most games but I'd rather play on my PS3 or XBOX 360.

Who cares about the stuff in the Sims, its about the personalities, I see the attraction and love it, you can make the most random decisions and see how that affects generations to come, its like one huge social experiment with endless opportunities. If you cant see the fun in raising a human character who sets fire to his kitchen then goes to sit and watch TV in the middle of it well then heck dont know..

STO for me personally was the biggest disappointment of all those games! on the list!

Nope, what this shows is that most PC gamers have long since learned that it's much better to buy online. NPD's data is utterly useless now that the majority of PC game sales are done online.

I guess SIMS has some practical value in teaching little kiddies how to be good breeding/products when they grow up or something like that, but honestly - There is precious little entertainment value there.

It's definitely saying something when Blizzard still has a good chunk of their games on the top 10 list for sales. I mean, the original World of Warcraft still managed to get in there!

***, now I have to look up info on Diablo 3.

Wonder if WoW and Sims sales have to do with being open ended games that don't "end"? Just saying this since a lot of single player games are pretty short for the $50 you spend on them.

Mmmm...not quite. More like, people who can actually afford to buy the game, I guess unlike yourself?

lol i woulnd't buy any of those games listed. only thing that is remotely interesting here is aliens vs predator from footage i have seen so far. but still.. old franchise, didn't games start coming out for that clear back on snes lol
