Just picked one up, If you have them look up the computer on the in store terminals it will show as 2099.00 then apply the 100.00 circuit city rebate and the toshiba 100.00 rebate for a final price of 1899.00 plus tax. It is a really sweet deal the laptop comes with 15" sxga screen 1.7g p4m geforce 4go, harmon kardon speakers with builtin subwoofer, 40 gigs HD, 512 DDR Ram 16x12x24 cdr/dvd rom, external 1.44 floppy and much much more this is a really sweet deal, comparable area 51 alienware laptops run 2800+ dollars!

Can get the alienware laptop for $2540 with a 2.2ghz processor and a 64 meg ati 7500. The toshiba you mentioned only comes with a 32 meg graphics card. Toshiba has a better sound system. But I would read this:

Who would pay an extra 700 dollars for the extra 32m video ram and the 2.2 processor? Doesnt make sense to me...especially considering how hard the 2.2 processor is on batteries and how much of a brick the alienware is Hehe

And if I recall corredctly that bit you posted at the end is regarding the intel mobile processors, not specifically with regards to Toshiba but to all computers using the mobile processors. Toshiba has posted the info for all to see, just because nooone else has does not mean they havent recieved the same warnings from Intel.

Heh I would pay the extra money . I don't really use the battery much so it's not a big issue with me. I did however want the best laptop for playing games and a fast processor for work to speed up my compile times. Guess it all depends on what your looking for in a laptop. I was originally looking at the toshiba...the built in subwoofer must be pretty nice . And sorry bout the warning...thought it was toshiba only...

I Understand what your sayin, but not all of us have money to burn...if I did however I would be buying the Toshiba S901 http://www.hardforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=461748 2.2ghz, lcd touchpad, 64m video ram, 60gig hd, same sound system, remote! 512 ddr ram, removable wireless keyboard and mouse! hehe it is the sweetest laptop i've ever seen.
