I'm looking for a help. I have Toshiba Satellite C640 Dynabook. it has ddr3 RAM and a Pentium B945 processor. It doesn't support Virtualization. so I upgraded it's cpu to intel 2nd gen i5 2520m processor. now the laptop working fine. no problem. with 8gb ram. and ssd. it's fast. but after I open a game, within 20 mins or 5 mins or suddenly open, the laptop turns itself off. It's a headache.

I tried many things. applied better new thermal grease. clean the all the mb and ventilations, fan and all. add a cooling pad. and set a fan on the top of the laptop from outside. and reduced the maximum cpu power from power management at 80%. I don't know why, but It self shutdowning is not end. I want to find a solution for this problem. I played some games without any fault before this problem even after upgrading the cpu to i5 2nd gen. but however most of the times it shutting down. [PS: before a second to shutting down, the fan rotates fast I guess. and it's sound increases.] Please I need your help. and I appreciate it much. Thanks.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

Your issue is very likely that you might be having a power delivery problem or a thermal issue whereby the laptop is shutting down to protect itself from damage.

Did you make sure that the BIOS for your laptop was on the latest version prior to dropping in the other processor?
