Hello again,

The processor you want to upgrade to is NOT supported.

I did state as long as it's 800MHz FSB and on the same socket it will work, however, the processor you have chosen is not for your socket.

Although your CPU package is 478-pin, that does not mean socket 478 will work for your laptop. You need to find Socket P processors. The Pentium 4 you want is also a poor choice, it would run slower than your current setup if it worked.

I would recommend you purchase an Intel Core 2 Duo T9300, this provides performance and value. If you want a list of supported CPU's, then I'll quickly type one up (typing on smartphone too, so it's not a copy and paste job 🙁 ).

Supported Intel Core 2 Duo Processors
Intel Core 2 Duo T9500 @ 2.6GHz
Intel Core 2 Duo T9300 @ 2.5GHz (best for performance + value)
Intel Core 2 Duo T8300 @ 2.4GHz
Intel Core 2 Duo T8100 @ 2.1GHz
Intel Core 2 Duo T7800 @ 2.6GHz
Intel Core 2 Duo T7700 @ 2.4GHz
Intel Core 2 Duo T7500 @ 2.2GHz
Intel Core 2 Duo T7300 @ 2.0GHz
Intel Core 2 Duo T7250 @ 2.0GHz
Intel Core 2 Duo T7100 @ 1.8Ghz
Intel Core 2 Duo T6970 @ 2.5GHz
Intel Core 2 Duo T6900 @ 2.5GHz
Intel Core 2 Duo T6670 @ 2.2GHz
Intel Core 2 Duo T6600 @ 2.2GHz
Intel Core 2 Duo T6570 @ 2.1GHz
Intel Core 2 Duo T6500 @ 2.1GHz
Intel Core 2 Duo T6400 @ 2.0GHz
Intel Core 2 Duo T5900 @ 2.2GHz
Intel Core 2 Duo T5870 @ 2.0GHz
Intel Core 2 Duo T5800 @ 2.0GHz
Intel Core 2 Duo T5670 @ 1.8GHz
Intel Core 2 Duo T5470 @ 1.6GHz
Intel Core 2 Duo T5270 @ 1.4GHz

Your motherboard can also take Pentium Dual Core and Celeron 900 and above on Socket P. If you want to upgrade your laptop, you may as well put an Intel Core 2 Duo in, as it's the best performance your laptop will be able to provide; and Core 2 Duos are considered old in 2014 - hence why you'll be able to pick one up cheaper than what they used to be.
