Question Toshiba External Hard Drive Clicking Noise - Arm stuck in park

Hello, I have a Toshiba 1TB Hard Drive from my laptop which is giving me issues, and I was wondering if there were any suggestions.

Currently, when you run the hard drive, the arm is getting stuck in the park position and is not moving towards the platter. It is making a clicking noise, and stuttering, and not leaving the yellow park area - hence not reading the hard drive/working.

Any questions on anything I can do to mitigate this issue rather than taking in for a professional repair? The cylinder is turning, but the arm clicks in the park position and won't extend out.

Any other questions, please let me know.

how did you know the arm is stuck in park? did you open it?

Hi Rgd1101... Just to see what the problem was and then I closed it back up.
