Have cleaned out many virus's, Trojans, etc... now clean. Computer will wake its self up and in the password slot begin to put dots and dots and dots. Thought this might be a firmware problem which I updated but still have no solution. Where to next?

Check keyboard. Does it type random stuff in the username field also? May still be a virus if you cleaned out "many" of them. Try running another virus scan with a boot disk, Avira Antivir has a good one I used before. That will also test the keyboard to see if it works in general or only fails when Windows starts.
