toshiba laptop charging light flashing with new battery

I bought a new battery for my toshiba satellite L70-b-13e but it just doesn't seem to work at all.

When i put the battery into my laptop the led that indicates if the battery is loading or is fully loaded will continue flashing orange (even if laptop is shut off) and my laptop doesn't want to turn on with the new battery in it.
I can't charge the new battery cause everytime it says that it's on the adapter but it isn't charging.
I've tried many things but none of them seem to work, does anyone have an idea what's going on and what I could do?

If the new battery was an aftermarket one, it may just be a bad battery. I would suggest contacting the seller and get it exchanged.

Or get your money back and get an OEM one.

Has your Toshiba Satellite laptop also been throwing out a lot of heat? If so, it could be dirty or dusty inside.
