My toshiba laptop touchpad is messing up often. It keeps locking or something. Every time i try to move my mouse around to different areas of the screen it just wants to scroll up and down the page any more. When i start my computer it works fine for a few minutes at the most then just stops moving and only scrolls the page. I have tried to disable and enable but it still won't work. Please help

EXACT same problem to the T. I read nearly every message from top to bottom. The first time it happened, I thought I was the ONLY one........I called Toshiba and they told me to wipe/restore to factory config. So I did it. And the problem has happened again. And just like everyone suggested, ending the "Synaptics Touchpad" process seemed to be the only way to temporarily relieve me of this madness. Also when it is NOT working, holding down the right mouse button and moving the touchpad does strangely move the cursor. Toshiba needs to take note of all these complaints and do something.

It is your primary mouse button itself that has been worn and messed up. Click down on your mouse button and hold then use one finger to move your cursor around with. Idk why it does this but I think it's the cheap components used to make the buttons.

I have found what seems to be a work around solution to this problem.
Press the window button and the 'C' button together. Then swipe from right to left on the keyboard and then the cursor should come free!
Then go to the touchpad icon in the icon tray at the bottom of your screen and make sure 'tap to click' is TURNED OFF!!
Restart your laptop and it should work now!
Hope this helped someone!
