Ummm Seagate has had 7200rpm 2.5" Sata II hard drives for a few years now.

I bought my Seagate Momentus G 2.5" 7200rpm SataII 500GB hard drive almost 2 years ago and slapped it into my ps3.

Seagate also has hit the 640G 7200rpm drive marker a while back as well.

Why are companies not releasing hybrid SSD+Magnetic drives left and right now? I don't know how drives like these can compete with the terrific Seagate Momentus XT. This seems like a new product that is already obsolete...

So you didn't read the Tom's review of the Momentus XT then?

"We tasted blood with the Momentus XT and we can only recommend true enthusiasts to go for this one instead of a conventional drive."

Yes I did... did you?

Why does the Momentus XT only have a dinky 4 gigs of SSD. I'd really love to see a 40 gig SSD + 500 gig rotating disk hybrid.
