toshiba sat pro L450D-12X, keep having to close lid to get screen back on running xp home and loaded latest graphics driver, c

Hi I have to keep closing screen lid about four or five times, to get screen back on sat pro L450D-12X, could it be switch fault and where is it on this model, running XP home and loaded latest driver for graphics, no faults on device manager.
any help would be gratefull, thanks.

Hi

There is a usually a switch which detects if laptop lid is open or closed.
When closed laptop will be put to sleep.

They are not as obvious as they used to be so may be a magnet operated switch

Are you closing the lid completely if so above may be happening.

If you are not closing completely it may be damage to wiring going from graphics chip to LCD display which will be located near one of hinges or a loose connector for this wiring.
