Toshiba Transmemory 8GB Formatting problems

I have Toshiba 8 GB Transmemory USB and my OS: Windows 8.1 Pro. OS is detecting the drive and showing the memory. but OS and other third party softwares could not format the disk and sometimes showing 0 MB memory and could not be formatted. also sometimes as write proteced. pl help me how can it be formatted?

If that makes no difference, the pen drive probably has corrupted memory chips so throw it away and buy a new one (not Toshiba, they are no longer a quality brand like they used to be in my opinion. Started going downhill about four years ago, cutting manufacturing costs to compete with the cheaper brands).
