Hi, I recently bought a 2nd hand benq XL2411z and it is awful, I've tried various settings and colour profiles and it's just rubbish to be quite honest, it's way to red and bright and yellows are terrible even after hours of adjusting settings etc. Any ways I've gone back to my old monitor a HannsG hl249dpb. I still want to upgrade to a 144hz monitor but I have been really put off and need some advice, I don't mind going for an IPS over TN I just don't want another dog like the benq, would like 27" but happy with 24". TIA for any recommendations. Paul.

Well, I guess it depends on what you want to spend.

High refresh rate 1080p panels are almost exclusively TN. The few VA panels that made it down there are curved panels.

That BenQ is about $250 new.

I know the Dell is popular: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/4Hc48d/dell-s2419hgf-240-1920x1080-144-hz-monitor-s2419hgf

The ASUS has been around forever: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/rkphP6/asus-monitor-vg248qe

And Acer has been making a name for themselves: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/LXMwrH/acer-xfa240-bmjdpr-240-1920x1080-144hz-monitor-xfa240-bmjdpr

If you can make it to a nearby store that has any high refresh gaming monitors, you might want to check them out in person.
