Touch Pad not working though USB mouse working Ubuntu 14.10

I am new to Linux Ubuntu, i have ASUS X550L Laptop
Since installing the Ubuntu OS my touchpad is not responding it quite shows deflections a bit while rolling over and over it agin on the touchpad.
also im using it in windows 8.1 and its working properly.

Kindly Help me with some solution!

P.S. Im Dual Booting 8.1 along Ubuntu 14.10

Sounds like a driver issue. You will need to find a Ubuntu driver for the touchpad. Asus might not offer one. Time to reach out to the Ubuntu crowd. Someone might have found a driver that works.

i have installed Synaptic Software, Will that help?

Only if it is compatible with Ubuntu. Sorry never really used Ubuntu before. Different O.S. need there own drivers. Most of the time Windows drivers won't work in Ubuntu.
